As we prepare for our upcoming art event, Letters of Change, happening on September 18th at Something Fishy in Warwick, we’ll be spotlighting the featured artists and their artwork each week. This week’s artist spotlight features art from Tony.
“Tony is drawn to the complexity and the many layers that define a person. This fascination is reflected in his layer painting techniques, where he sands, buries, and collages everything from paper, photographs, drawings, treasured or hated items; thus allowing elements to either disappear or remain visible. His work evokes emotion, generates discussion, reveals hopes and traumas.”
Tony chose these pieces to represent a pivotal moment that turns pain into purpose. They are incorporated into the artwork he’s created for our Letters of Change event. The Letters of Change are letters of our group members written to their 12 year old selves. Some of the letters will be on display for viewing at our event.
